A join entity that associates a merchandise hierarchy group with a named location within a Site. This is used on an INTERIM basis to locate items. In ARTS the MerchandiseHierarchyGroup entity at the lowest level corresponds to an individual item. Of course it can represent higher-level categories of items as well. This join entity allows retailers to locate categories of items as well as individual items. This gives them a choice of the level of granularity they will support for locating items. Keep in mind that LOCATION is also a generalized nested entity and typically items will be tied to LOCATIOINS that represent fixtures or a fairly limited area within a Site. It is up to the retailer to establish constraints and boundaries on the association of items and locations. This approach is not a complete treatment of location and items. It is based on the need to support the ARTS XML location schemas which are incomplete representations of location aimed at supporting location services.
